About Us

Most families can cope with the financial commitment involved in the day to day care of fur kids. However, those that demonstrate a need are faced with a much bigger issue when their pet is ill or injured, and has to be taken to the vet. We know that you don't want your fur kid to suffer because medical care is out of reach. All too often animals suffer needlessly or are put down because expensive veterinary bills.

Created in November 2011, the Fur Kids Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides education and aid to promote the well-being of animals in Campbell County. The purpose of the Fur Kid Foundation is to:

1. provide veterinary financial assistance to those who demonstrate a need in Campbell County.
2. promote and educate the importance of spaying/neutering and veterinary care for pets.
3. provide support for groups for pets and their owners.

Our Namesake, Morgan

The Foundation was formed because of the loving bond between a human and a very special fur kid named Morgan. Mary, one of Fur Kids Foundation's founders, adopted a bullmastiff named Morgan in August 2010. In mid-2011, Morgan was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma and began chemotherapy. On November 2011, Morgan passed away peacefully in her home with her parents by her side. While Mary had the means to care for Morgan, she realized that there are families who love their pets as much as she loved Morgan who may not be able to afford treatments. After talking with friends, and the local veterinary clinic to determine if there was a need, the Fur Kids Foundation was formed. Read more about Morgan.
