Approval Process
Fur Kids Foundation is dedicated to providing aid to families who demonstrate a need for financial support when their fur kid is ill or injured, and has to be taken to the vet. The Foundation only provides assistance to residents in Campbell County, Wyoming at this time—we currently work with Animal Medical Center of Wyoming and Thunder Basin Veterinary Clinic PC. There is no restriction regarding pet species. It is important that you are aware each applicant is looked at on a case-by-case basis and that not all families meet our guidelines. The Foundation does not pay for routine vet visits or vaccinations, or optional surgeries such as de-clawing. If you have questions, please contact the Fur Kids Foundation at 307.363.1131.
Process
Step 1: Complete the Application for Assistance and submit it to the Foundation. Every field must be completed. Failure to answer all of the questions will result in an automatic denial of the application. Download an application.
Step 2: If the case qualifies, a Foundation board member contacts the references on the form and the veterinarian to request additional information.
Step 3: Once all of the information is collected, the Fur Kids Foundation board reviews the Guidelines for assistance.
Step 4: The pet owner and veterinarian is contacted by phone or in person with the Foundation’s response. The Foundation pays the vet directly.
Fur Kids Foundation does not guarantee approval of applications. The typical process takes anywhere from two to five business days, depending upon the requirements of treatment and, most importantly, the cooperation of the pet owner and veterinarian. We can do a one-day response when all parties cooperate fully and immediately. If you believe that your pet's life is in immediate danger, you should apply, but seek immediate assistance from a licensed veterinarian. We will consider assisting in cases where treatment has already occurred if the pet's life was truly at risk. Fur Kids Foundation does not guarantee nor is responsible to pay full amounts of veterinary care. You must make payment arrangements with Animal Medical Center of Wyoming, LLC or Thunder Basin Veterinary Clinic PC for any remaining balance that the Foundation does not cover.
