Scoop the Poop Clean Up Event
Date: Saturday, August 5
Time: 8-10 am
If you’ve walked around our parks recently, we're sure that you’ve seen quite a few piles of dog waste along the paths. As we all know, this isn’t healthy for our community; nor is it fun to step in.
Fur Kids Foundation is planning a Scoop the Poop Clean Up Event on Saturday, August 5 from 7:30-10 am.
What Fur Kids Foundation will do is Scoop the Poop along a Gillette park walking trail. That day, Fur Kids Foundation will provide the bags, but we will need everyone to bring their own rake, shovel and gloves. (Afterward, we suggest you clean off the shovel/rake before using it in your lawn with your pets, just to be safe.) We plan to weigh each bag and then will throw them away at the park.
We hope to see some members of our community join us as we help keep Gillette beautiful by scooping the poop!
Why is Fur Kids Foundation so down on dog poo left behind at parks?
Not only is it the right thing to do, and there is no such thing as a poop fairy, dog waste left behind by dog owners on walks also poo-lutes! You can learn more in our blog, Do you scoop your pets' poo?
If you walk your dog on public streets or let your dog roam your back yard, Fur Kids Foundation encourages you to scoop the poop.
Fur Kids Foundation is the only organization in Northeastern Wyoming that provides families with pets access to veterinary care when they cannot afford it—so you are helping your neighbors and friends, and maybe family, when you donate.
