​About Fur Kids Foundation


​Created in November 2011, the Fur Kids Foundation (FKF)  is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides education and aid to promote the well-being of families with animals in Campbell County, Wyoming.
All too often animals suffer needlessly or are put down because medical care seems out of reach for many pet owners.  Fur Kids Foundation is here to help bridge that gap and offer financial assistance so pet owners can get their fur kids the required veterinary care.

How it all started


Our story started with one very special, well-loved dog named Morgan.

In July 2011, Mary Melaragno was sharing with her friends, Sheryl and Felicia Messimer that she could never imagine being told that her Morgan had lymphoma and not having the means to pay for chemotherapy. It made her sick to her stomach with overwhelming sadness that there are families who love their pets as much as she loved Morgan who may never be able to afford veterinary care. Sadly, some families would be left with no option but to put their beloved pet down rather than fix the injury or fight the illness. That night, the trio decided it was time to start an organization to assist families in Campbell County.
In November 2011, with the help and encouragement from friends and animal lovers alike, Fur Kids Foundation was formed to provide education and aid to promote the well-being of families with animals in Campbell County, Wyoming.
