You must get this information to your FKF Case Manager within 24 hours of sending in an application. If this information is not received, your application will be denied.
  • You must be  willing to volunteer for FKF.
  • If you do not have access to a scanner you can take a picture of the required documents and reply to the automatic email sent to you, or text or email documents to applicationsfkf@gmail.com.
  • You include a picture of the pet you are seeking assistance for - not a picture of the injury, but a picture of the pet; this is used in blogs. Please do not include people in the pictures unless you are OK with your picture being on our website/blog, email newsletter, banners, and social media pages.

Application Process

Step 1:  Submit a request
Complete the Application for Assistance and provide all the necessary documentation (described within the application) to be considered for veterinarian assistance from Fur Kids Foundation. Failure to answer all of the questions, or send necessary documentation, will result in an automatic denial of the application.
Files should be sent to Fur Kids Foundation only. Please do not send your files through the vet's office.  If you have questions, please contact the Fur Kids Foundation at 307.363.1131 or furkidsfoundation@gmail.com.

Note: If the applicant is under the age of 18, or has a designated signature authority, the Applicant’s Personal Representative may submit this form.

The pet owner and veterinarian is contacted by phone or in person with Fur Kids Foundation’s response.  If approved, we will pay the veterinary clinic directly.

If you live outside of Campbell County, please visit the Help Outside Campbell County Wyoming page.
As of August 7, 2015, FKF has agreements to work with the following clinics:

  • There is no restriction regarding pet species for the application for assistance.
  • FKF does not cover the cost of routine visits, dental cleanings, routine vaccinations, spays or neuters, debarking, declawing, any cosmetic procedures or the cost of burials or cremation.
  • If there is less than a 30% survival rate and/or the veterinarian recommends euthanasia as the best interest of the pet, FKF will not cover additional fees if further treatment is pursued.
  • If an applicant’s pet’s life is in immediate danger, they should apply and seek immediate assistance from a licensed veterinarian.
The Foundation is designed to provide emergency assistance for families with pets in need. It is important to note that each applicant is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Foundation's Case Managers, and not all families meet the Foundation’s guidelines. Fur Kids Foundation does not guarantee approval of applications, and reserves the right to refuse assistance to any applicant. The Foundation does not cover 100% of the medical expense, or past due accounts. Our dedicated Case Managers work closely with each applicant and the vet clinic to discuss the amount, if approved. The typical process takes anywhere from one to three business days, depending upon the requirements of treatment and, most importantly, the cooperation of the pet owner and veterinarian.

If approved, funds are paid directly to the clinics listed above. Applicants must make payment arrangements with the clinics for any remaining balance that the Foundation does not cover. Any applicants who do not follow through with payment arrangements with the veterinary clinic, stop payments on payment arrangements, or surrender their pet to a shelter or rescue after FKF has assisted with treatment funds will be denied future assistance from the Foundation.

Note: A complete Application for Assistance Policy is available upon request.
