GILLETTE, WYO., September 4, 2013—Calling all pet lovers! On September 14, the Fur Kids Foundation hosts Pet-A-Palooza at CAM-PLEX Park, Shelter No. 5 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event is sponsored by Cloud Peak Energy, announced by Masters of Ceremony, and supported by the following: Alignment Pros Tire Factory; Animal Medical Center of Wyoming; Annabelle’s Cookies; Dink's Doggie Treats, LLC; First Interstate Bank; Flightline; HealthSource of Gillette; The Home Depot; Darren & Kim Lynde Family; Petco; Photo Imaging Center Gillette; Security State Bank; Sol Domus; Thunder Basin Veterinary Clinic PC; and White's Frontier Motors.
Pet-A-Palooza is the Fur Kids Foundation signature event. This family friendly event features:
Mutt Strut Dog Walk as well as Best Pet Trick and Pet Fashion Show Contests
Pet Supply Drive for the rescues in the Take Me Home Corner—items requested include bedding, collars and leashes, food, litter, toys, treats, and towels
more than 20 vendors featuring animal organizations, arts and crafts, dog treats, pet products and services, supplements and skincare products, and more; Pizza Carrello will be there to keep the audience well fed
plus a Healthy Pet Trivia Contests, Kids Corner, Silent Auction with goodies from more than 30 businesses and individuals, and more!
The event is free to the public; the contests and Mutt Strut have entrance fees.
Pet-A-Palooza Attractions Warm up—or tucker out your pup—at the beginning of the day at the Mutt Strut Dog Walk. If your dog is a fashion junkie that loves to strut her stuff, the Pet Fashion Show Contest offers a runway for your pet to prance. If your terrier, tabby, parrot or ferret has an awesome trick that would wow the audience, enter the Best Pet Trick Contest. The contests are $5 per person; participants in the Mutt Strut Dog Walk pay a $10 fee—those who participate in the Mutt Strut are automatically entered into a contest of their choice. Preregistration forms can be downloaded on the Foundation’s website. Registrations will also take place the day of the event. Other Pet-A-Palooza attractions include:
