Watermelon Eating Contest

 Join Fur Kids Foundation at the Campbell County, Wyoming Fair  for our Watermelon Eating Contest on August 6 at 2 pm at the CAM-PLEX Plaza, 1635 Reata Drive in Gillette, Wyoming.
Cost to participate in the Watermelon Eating Contest is $10. Contestants have 60 seconds to eat as much watermelon as they can! There are four age categories to enter:
  1. 5-7 years old
  2. 8-11 years old
  3. 12-16 years old
  4. 17-adult

​Rules
  1. The object of the Fur Kids Foundation Watermelon Eating Contest is to eat a large wedge of watermelon down to the rind with your hands behind your back in 60 seconds or less. 
  2. All the watermelon on a contestant’s plate must be consumed and not regurgitated or spit up (this will result in ejection from the contest) prior to the completion of the age group contest. 
  3. Contestants must not eat any watermelon until the starting signal is given. 
  4. Judges will be on hand to assure adherence to the contest rules. 
  5. The age group winners will be the person who consumes the entire portion of the watermelon in the shortest amount of time. 
  6. ​In the event of a tie, the contestants will participate in a second round of watermelon eating.

Are there refunds?
This is a fundraiser for Fur Kids Foundation. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds. The logistics of setting up and planning the event make it impossible. Please make sure you are good to go before signing up. If for some reason you can’t make it to the event that day, feel free to check in and say hi to us!
Regulations (​Liability Waiver)
By participating in or attending as a guest at the Watermelon Eating Contest at CAM-PLEX, produced by Fur Kids Foundation, I agree on behalf of myself, my spouse, my children, heirs, personal representatives and assigns (collectively “guest”), to the following:
  1. To indemnify and hold harmless the Fur Kids Foundation, Campbell County Fair Board, Campbell County Government, CAM-PLEX, and its agents associated with the event, all sponsoring organizations and their elected officials, directors, employees, representatives and volunteers from any responsibility, injury, property damage, loss, personal liability, or claims of loss, damage or expenses that may occur or relating to the participation/ attending within the event. The entities above are not responsible for any injury sustained by exhibitors, patrons, animals or guests.
  2. Contestant or contestant’s parent/guardian acknowledges that there are risks of personal injury, illness or choking which may result from participating in the Watermelon Eating Contest. Contestant and/or representatives as a condition of entry, agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Fur Kids Foundation, sponsors, vendors or any others affiliated with the Fur Kids Foundation Watermelon Eating Contest from any and all responsibility or damages that may occur to participants as result of participating in this contest. 
  3. For valuable consideration received, I give Fur Kids Foundation, their assigns, licensees, and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use my picture, portrait or photograph in all forms, media and promotional materials, without restriction as to changes or alterations for advertising, trade, promotion, exhibition, or any other lawful purposes. I waive any right to inspect or approve the photographs or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that use is known to me or unknown, and I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photographs.
Fur Kids Foundation is the only organization in Northeastern Wyoming that provides families with pets access to veterinary care when they cannot afford it—so you are helping your neighbors and friends, and maybe family, when you donate.​
